The Avondale Music Society first reared its ugly head on Chicago's northside in a time when high speed internet connections were few and far between. But the story begins much further back.

It begins in an era when "the running man" and "the cabbage patch" ruled the dancefloors and one 16 year old named Inbum Cho was using more hairspray than should have been allowed. Over the years, he distanced himself from the sound he found so enchanting as a kid, but in the end (or was it the beginning), Inbum found a comfortable home in house music. Both his DJ and production sound is firmly rooted in the foundation of house, but also pays respect to disco, techno, and all things quirky.

Industry heavyweights, Mark Farina and Johnny Fiasco took notice of this relatively unknown producer upon hearing his first demo in 2001. This led to a licensing deal with OM Records and "You Suck" ended up as track #7 on Mark Farina's "Connect" mix CD.

Inbum's current work as the Avondale Music Society is receiving support from DJ's as varied as Diz, Terry Mullen, Kascade, Sneak and Superchumbo's Tom Stephan. On several occasions, his tracks received glowing press in the coveted "guest reviewer" music section of Urb Magazine. Inbum was the recipient of the ASCAP Plus award for new artists from 2003-2006. Be on the look out for more exciting releases and performances from Chicago's Inbum Cho aka the Avondale Music Society.
